Urban Sustainable and Smart City Event
The 4th
in the series of the Urban Sustainability and Smart City (USSC) Event was held
on 1st and 2nd June 2023 at New Delhi. This is a series
of four events, under the India - EU Urban Partnership (IEUP) support project.
The two-day
event saw participation from key experts from various public and private
organizations and EU Member States. The event was focused on the themes of
urban mobility, solid waste management, urban resilience, metropolitan planning
and digital urban transformation with a wide range of speakers. The sessions
were structured as sectoral panel discussions wherein the panelists shared
their knowledge. On day one, there were discussions
on topics of Integrated Urban Mobility including cycling, Mobility as a Service
(MaaS), solid waste management, circular economy, urban resilience, etc. On the
second day, there were sessions on metropolitan planning, usage of digital
platforms, use of Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), etc. The
workshop was concluded with a roundtable discussion among the participants to
exchange views on the workshop themes.
The event was
attended by more than 70 participants from EU Member States, National Institute
of Urban Affairs (NIUA), TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute, Ministry of
Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), NITI Aayog, International Urban and Regional
Cooperation (IURC), Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), private
organisations amongst others.
The event
focused on capturing and showcasing the consolidated learnings from the India -
EU Urban Partnership support project.
