Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2023 was organized on 22-24 February 2023
at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
At this event,
experts from Delegation of European Union (EU) to India and India EU Urban Partnership
(IEUP) Support Project participated on 23 February 2023 in different sessions
on aspects of Urban Water, Urban Public Transportation and People centric Smart
City Development.
The sessions
provided a platform for diverse stakeholders leading the mainstreaming
resilience effort in smart cities to share their experiences in integrating
data-driven approaches in planning, management and decision-making, net zero
development, as well as ongoing initiatives and results achieved so far. The
discussion was made around people-centric smart city development, challenges in
the integration of marginalized and vulnerable groups in smart city development
policies, and the use of available technologies, data and methods to better
inform the policies to people. The sessions also discussed the various
challenges faced and provide an opportunity to discuss innovative ways to
tackle them as a potential way forward.
The session
saw enthusiastic response and aimed to provide long-term solutions for the
benefit of global communities.
The summit was
attended by over 2000 participants from various organisations, academia,
industry etc. in India and abroad.
